Everything you need to know before booking an experience in Jaco, Costa Rica.
What makes Costa Rican Adventures different from other operators in Jaco?
We focus on smaller group sizes, authentic local experiences, and guides who grew up in the area. Many of our tours include cultural elements you won’t find on standard tourist itineraries — like traditional food cooked over wood fire or stops at hidden spots locals actually know. The goal is a real experience, not a package tour.
Are your tours suitable for families with young children?
Yes. Tours like the Jaco Waterfall hike and the Monkey Mangrove tour are popular with families. We tailor the pace to your group and can advise which tours work best for specific ages when you reach out to book. Children who enjoy walking and exploring nature typically do very well.
Can I submit my own photos after a tour to be featured here?
Absolutely. We love featuring real guest experiences. Send your photos and a short story to our team and we may include it on this page with your permission. This is how the gallery grows — every story here came from a real traveler, not a stock photo library.
Which tours depart from Jaco and how long do they take?
All tours depart from Jaco or include hotel pickup nearby. The Poas Volcano and Manuel Antonio tours are full-day trips (8–10 hours). Most waterfall, ATV, and mangrove experiences return within 4–5 hours. We offer morning and afternoon departure times on select tours.
Do tours run in the rainy season?
Most tours run year-round including during the green season (May–November). Light rain is common in the afternoon and often enhances the jungle experience. If conditions are unsafe, we will contact you to reschedule or offer a full refund per our cancellation policy.
